- Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, beat together butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Do not stop until this batter becomes light and smooth.
- In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder and flour. Set Aside. In a separate bowl mix buttermilk and baking soda. Set Aside.
- Alternating dry and wet ingredients, add them gradually to the creamed batter. Continue mixing untill all is incorporated and smooth.
- Greese a Bundt pan with butter and lightly flour it. Pour batter into the pan and bake it for 50 min, or until the toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake stand for 10 min. Then remove from the pan and let it cool completely. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar or topped with your favorite glaze.
